Save Water, Save Life!

It was a great Monday morning and as usual I was on my way to catch the office cab. Though it is less than 200 mts that I need to walk to catch the cab, I was walking at my own pace taking deep breaths of the fresh morning air and there by getting ready to face yet another new week. This little fountain caught my attention in the mean while. It was hardly 15 mts away from the 100ft ring road that connects Mysore and Hosur roads. A bit surprised to see such beautification efforts being taken by our govt agencies in the form of fountains like this… Ah let me stop the sarcasm here!

Thanks to BWSSB and PWD who repeatedly keep digging up roads and re-asphalting them again in the crappiest form. This little ‘on-road fountain’ is the result of one such goof up by our civic bodies. Upon seeing this fountain, I was happy momentarily to click this pic with my good old k750i but at the same time I was cursing the people for leaving it this way. Called up the BWSSB dept folks after reaching office and complained about this. They registered my complaint and seem to have fixed the water leakage. I am glad they acted swiftly and saved some water!

Upon seeing this initially, I had few options in hand. I could have simply ignored or possibly blame them and move on. But I chose a different path to ‘Be The Reason’ and got it fixed. May be that the government folks are lame, certainly not that bad off late. We should bear the responsibility of informing the appropriate bodies at least. I am very sure, a bit of common sense from each of us can amount to a lot of good things. Just try once, I am sure the kind of joy you feel cannot be expressed!
